The Enable / Disable Features screen appears in the GameEx Setup Wizard. This screen allows you to enable and configure various additional functionality and features within GameEx.

Configuration Options

Enable or Disable Features in GameEx

This is where you can enable and disable features in GameEx.

Quick Startup Resume

Upon restarting GameEx quickly resume to the last used menu and skip the intro animation and sound.

Enable Auto GameEx Updates

Automatically download and install new versions of GameEx. Registered Version Feature.

Enable Rip CD

Enables an option to rip an inserted CD to WMA. Internet access to us.freedb.org is required for this to work. Registered Version Feature.

Show Start Screensaver

Show an option to start the screensaver immediately under More Games and Programs.

MAME - Game Sorting

When this is enabled GameEx will sort game names beginning with "The" by the first character after "The".

Emulators - Game Sorting

When this is enabled GameEx will sort game names beginning with the word "The" by the first character after the word "The".

Show Game Information

Show Game Information Page after selecting a game. True or False.If not set to true, game will launch straight away, otherwise game information and recommended games will display. Recommended Games are selectable, and playable. The Game info page will also allow you to view a games flyer and cabinet image.If set to true, GameEx will use MAMEInfo.dat and History.dat when updating the game list. The default is True.

Show Export to MCE

When enabled an item will be shown which when selected will export all most played and favorites to MCE. Registered Version Feature.

Enable Random Game

Enable and show Random Game on the Start Page. This will launch a random game across all emulators.

Enable Theme Picker

Enable and show the theme picker which allows you to change the theme while in GameEx.

Disable Please Wait Animation

Whether to show the loading animation that displays when GameEx needs to process or load for several seconds.

Hide Update List

When set to true Hide Update List hides and disables the Update List menu option in GameEx.

Hide StandBy

Hide Standy hides the standyby menu option on the StartPage.

Hide Hibernate

Hide Hibernate hides the Hibernate menu option on the StartPage.

Hide Log Off hides the logoff menu option on the StartPage.

Hide Create Snaps hides the create snaps menu option in custom emulators.

Disable Exit

Disable Exit disables exiting from GameEx, and hides the exit menu option on the Start Page, and in the GUI. If this last option is set to True the only way to exit GameEx will be to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE, or Shut down/Restart the PC. If you wish to be able to exit from GameEx but not allow shutting down of the PC from the Start Page, then set Hide Shut Down to True.

Disables exiting of GameEx with the Escape Key.

Hide Shutdown

The following three options are mainly for Arcade Cabinets running in, Public, or Commercial places, or where children have access. When set to true Hide Update List hides and disables the Update List button in GameEx, and Disable Exit disables exiting from GameEx, and hide the exit button on the Start Page, and in the Gui. If this last option is set to True the only way to exit GameEx will be to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE, or Shut down/Restart the PC. Enable Most Played

Enable and show Most Played games on the Start Page. This will take you to a list of the most played games in order.

Allow Window Resize

Allow Window to be resized.

Show option to run last MAME game on the Start Page.

Hide Zinc

Don't display the MAME Playstation/Zinc list. This is just the displaying of the list. It wont disable Zinc.

Disable Remove Game turns off the ability to remove games from lists with the delete key.

Auto Exit Games After

This setting, will exit any game or external application automatically after the period set. This is for the purpose of stopping children playing games, but still allowing GameEx to be used.

Auto Exit Inactivity

This setting, will exit any game or external application automatically after the period set if no keyboard, mouse or joystick activity is detected. This can be used to always allow the screensaver to run, as the game will exit and after further inactivity the screensaver will run.

Fix to Emulator

This setting will lock down GameEx for use only with one emulator. All other features will be disabled. If the emulator number is in a group the group will be used. This feature is primarily for GameEx partners with arcade machines in retail stores.

Enable Search

The search feature in GameEx allows you to search across all games, media and the jukebox. Enabling this feature adds the search option to the start page. Registered version feature.

Sort List of Emulators

Sort the list of emulators setup by name.

Show a selectable list of other systems you have installed that a game will run on on the game info page.

Check for Media Insertion

If this setting is on (default), GameEx will check for CD/DVD and external media insertion and prompt to play a CD,DVD,blu-ray or to browse media on the CD/DVD/USB or device. Having this feature on may affect performance.
